My name is Alex M. Lehmann and I live in
Los Angeles, CA.

I am a dedicated and fast animator with a passion for animation and a strong background as a generalist. I originally started in modeling, rigging, particles (all mainly in XSI), then added some scripting (Maya), and finally learned all other aspects of the 3D animation pipeline (including UV mapping, texturing, and rendering).

I have worked in feature film, game, commercial, and industrial animation under a multitude of circumstances. I have experience working for small production houses with 2 artists up to major studios with 700+ people working on a project. I am very comfortable in Maya, XSI, and After Effects. I know that I can adapt easily to other software packages (Max, cinema 4D) since I’ve worked with a multitude of packages in my career already (XSI, Maya, Electric Image, Monzoom…).

In Germany I worked as a generalist/animator for three years at different animation studios on commercials and the feature film The Ugly Duckling & Me. After studying at “Animation Mentor” I specialized in character animation. In 2007, I moved to the US and received my green card. For the last 2 years I have worked for various companies, among them Microsoft (Kodu, XBOX360 game) as a lead animator, Sony Imageworks (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) as a full-time character animator, and Pixel Playground (Gulliver’s Travels) as 3D animator and generalist.

I’m currently the Sr. Character Animator at RIOT Games in Culver City working on the highly successful PC-title “League of Legends”. I’m helping develop a new animation pipeline while raising the bar of what our characters can do in our game. With every character I challenge myself to make the game more fun, more interesting and “cooler” to play and watch. The diversity of our characters allows me to animate bipeds, quadrupeds and winged characters with and without props.
